We’re sailing Virgin for the first time in a couple months. Booked a balcony and I called to upgrade to a Seriously Suite for our TA.
Rep quoted me a price. I agreed. We were literally in the middle of processing it when she said she was having computer issues and put me on hold. I hung up after 20 minutes and called back.
Turns out while she was booking it, the system dynamically repriced the upgrade to more than double. She apparently tried to get the original rate back but couldn’t.
Customer service admits that’s what happened, but their “Revenue Department” will only split the difference with me.
I’m frustrated because I didn’t change my mind or wait days to decide. I was actively booking when the price jumped.
Has anyone successfully gotten Virgin to honor an original quoted upgrade rate? Is there a better escalation path than standard customer service?
