Has anyone purchased the optional trip delay or cancellation insurance offered when booking flights through the Capital One Travel portal?
I’m trying to understand how the coverage actually works, since it appears to be provided by a third-party insurer. From what I can tell, it may offer reimbursement if a flight is delayed or cancelled for more than a few hours and you are unable to find a suitable alternative, even if the airline rebooks you for a later flight.
I have international travel planned later this year with connections, and I am considering adding this insurance for the first time due to concerns about delays and cancellations.
I have a Venture X card but have not previously needed to file any claims for travel issues like baggage delays or loss, so I’m looking for real-world experiences with this coverage.
