Just noticed something strange with Qatar redemptions looks like they’re now charging for seat selection on Business Class Avios bookings. I made my redemption on November 3, and customer support said a new policy started that exact day.
Apparently, anyone booking or upgrading to Business Class (U fare) with Avios or Qcredits no longer gets free seat selection. Support quoted an internal note saying the policy took effect November 3, 2025, and fees are now around $100+ per seat.
Has anyone else seen this? Feels like a quiet devaluation that slipped under the radar.
