I’m looking to move points into Qatar Privilege Club to book a Virgin Australia flight from Sydney to Queenstown next March.
The pricing I’m seeing is around 11,000 Avios per person, which looks better than Qantas or BA for the same route. What I cannot figure out is the cash component on top of the Avios.
I currently do not have any Avios in my Qatar account, so I cannot proceed to the final booking screen to check the fees.
Does anyone know roughly what the taxes and carrier charges would be for this SYD–ZQN Virgin Australia redemption in economy? Or has anyone recently booked it and can share the actual cash co-pay?
For reference, I am specifically looking at March 31, 2027 on Virgin Australia.
