It appears Qatar Airways has introduced new limitations on booking award tickets for family and friends.
There are now two separate lists: a “Friends and Family” list and a “My List.” The Friends and Family list seems intended for mileage pooling and bookings, but it requires that the added person does not already have a Qatar Airways Privilege Club account.
The “My List” option allows adding people with existing accounts, but their accounts must be at least 30 days old before they can be added.
This change seems like it could make it more difficult to book award tickets for family members compared to before.
