I originally booked a Qatar Airways flight using 200,000 Avios back in November. Recently, the airline canceled my flight and automatically rebooked me on an alternative itinerary.
After checking the same route again, I noticed that the identical or very similar flight is now available for only 100,000 Avios, which is significantly lower than what I initially paid.
I’m trying to understand the best course of action in this situation. One option is to contact Qatar Airways and request a refund or adjustment for the difference in Avios. Another option is to cancel the rebooked flight, receive the full 200,000 Avios back, and rebook the same flight at the lower rate.
I would appreciate advice on how these situations are typically handled and what approach would be most effective.
