Sharing a useful workaround in case others run into this issue.
I transferred points from Rove to Japan Airlines and booked a business class seat on their A350 (HND → JFK). I received confirmation, selected a seat, and everything appeared fine, but the e-ticket was never issued and miles weren’t deducted. The booking stayed stuck in “Pending Ticketing.”
The issue turned out to be a restriction: JAL requires mileage accounts to be at least 60 days old before issuing award tickets. Since my account was newer, the system silently blocked ticketing and eventually canceled the reservation.
Workaround:
Transferring points again from Rove allowed me to rebook early the next morning (around 4 AM ET), even with a newer account. This time, the ticket issued successfully.
Ended up securing the same flight and seat (10K) on the A350.
If your JAL account is new, be aware of this limitation and consider timing your transfer/rebooking carefully.
