Missed my United flight to Maui because of my own dumb mistake, and instead of just rebooking with the airline like my wife tried to do, I went the “save money with Expedia” route. Huge mistake.
Expedia had me on chat for hours, gave me totally wrong info, cancelled my ticket, “rebooked” me for free (which wasn’t real), and I ended up paying United directly anyway. Then Expedia cancelled that reservation, too. I spent the day bouncing between agents who all said different things while sitting in Denver on a 9-hour delay.
United at least fixed things in the end. Expedia basically offered me some OneKeyCash like that would make up for all the chaos.
Honestly, when everything goes smoothly, booking through Expedia is fine. The second anything goes wrong, it becomes a wall between you and the airline. Agents contradict each other, nothing is logged, and you get stuck in the middle.
Pretty sure I’m done with them for good.
