Property changing past stay dates after a bad review is wild

This is honestly one of the sketchiest Booking.com stories I’ve seen in a while. Stayed in an apartment in Ho Chi Minh, paid cash, place wasn’t as advertised, left a negative review… and then suddenly the host changes the reservation dates from a completed January stay to July like it’s some future booking. Without consent. Non refundable, of course.


What makes it worse is Booking.com being basically invisible. No response in chat for a week, phone support going in circles, and somehow saying they need the property’s approval to cancel a booking the guest didn’t even create. That’s insane.


It really feels like the host is trying to punish the guest for the review or keep the listing clean, and Booking just lets it happen. After 10 years of using the platform, I’d be furious too.


Deleting the card info was smart, but the fact that this can even happen is a huge red flag.
