Priority Pass lounges scanning boarding passes… what do they actually check?

Curious how the boarding pass scan works when entering a Priority Pass lounge.

Since Priority Pass is separate from the airlines, it seems unlikely they have full access to airline passenger databases to verify every boarding pass.

So what information actually gets pulled when the QR code on the boarding pass is scanned? Is it just basic details like name, flight number, and departure time, and then checking if it matches the Priority Pass member?

Also wondering how strict the system is. For example, if someone had a long layover and wanted to enter the lounge earlier than the usual 3 hour window, could a different boarding pass theoretically allow earlier access.
