I am flying DUS to LHR today and noticed some passengers presenting their membership cards when boarding. I have seen this a few times before as well.
In most cases the cabin crew just gives a polite thank you and then moves on to greet the next passenger. This made me curious whether this is actually a formal practice or more of a personal habit some passengers follow.
Does showing a British Airways club membership card at boarding have any operational purpose, or is it mainly just a way for passengers to acknowledge their status when entering the aircraft?
