My main frustration with Flighty is how it predicts departures when inbound aircraft are still in the air.
For example, it will show something like a gate departure in 25 minutes and indicate that the incoming plane is still en route from Philadelphia, but supposedly still “has enough time” to make the scheduled departure.
In reality, the aircraft had just landed and still needed to taxi in, deplane passengers, get cleaned, and then board the next flight. That entire turnaround process realistically takes much longer than the time suggested.
Even with a fast turnaround, it seems unlikely that deplaning, cleaning, and boarding could all consistently happen within such a short window.
Overall, I feel these “on time departure is still possible” predictions should better account for real-world turnaround delays.
