Just wanted to give a quick positive shout-out to an IHG Diamond Support representative who helped me today.
I recently checked out of a 3-night stay booked with points and noticed a charge of $27.29 on my card, even though I didn’t purchase anything during my stay.
I first contacted the hotel front desk, and they told me it was a fee for using points. I was fairly certain that wasn’t correct, so I reached out to IHG customer support.
The support agent I spoke with was very professional and apologetic. They explained that the charge was actually related to taxes that should have been billed to IHG instead of my credit card. They immediately offered to contact the hotel manager directly and get the charge reversed.
Overall, it wasn’t a major issue financially, but I appreciated how quickly and smoothly it was handled.
