Been Platinum with Qatar since 2018 and kept it straight through the pandemic. I fly around 120 business class flights a year for work, and until recently Qatar was completely non negotiable for me.
Over the past year though, the decline has been hard to ignore. Aircraft not properly cleaned, crew clearly overworked, service taking twice as long as it used to. Al Safwa is constantly overcrowded with no rooms available, lots of last minute aircraft swaps, and WiFi is a gamble unless you luck into a Starlink plane, and even that only works over certain countries.
Just flew a 4 hour sector from India to Doha and wasn’t offered coffee until two hours in. Landed tired and figured Al Safwa would be the calm reset. Nope. Absolute circus. Loud, chaotic, nowhere to sit. I left and ended up at the quieter area near the end of the C gates, which was way better.
Yeah, I know these are first world problems, but when you’re paying Qatar prices and flying them this often, expectations are higher. Really hope they get things back to where they used to be.
