Plane half empty but still not allowed to move seats

Just had a pretty funny moment on a Southwest flight. The plane is about half empty and we’re getting ready for takeoff.

The flight attendant made an announcement saying there are five baggage sections under the plane and five seating sections in the cabin, and that the passengers and bags are “scientifically balanced.”

Because of that, apparently nobody is allowed to move seats. Not even within their section.

Had to try pretty hard not to laugh hearing that explanation while looking at all the empty seats around.
