This one annoyed me more than it should. I’ve been here many times and usually have zero issues.
Landed, went straight to the official taxi line. Driver asked if I was paying cash, I said yes, meter started running, so I thought everything was fine. When we arrived at the hotel, the meter fare suddenly disappeared. He refused to give any kind of receipt but still wanted cash.
It was the start of a work trip, so now I’m stuck paying out of pocket since I can’t expense it without a receipt.
First time this has happened to me in Singapore after 10+ visits, which honestly surprised me. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but still frustrating.
Lesson learned. Next time I’ll just use a ride hailing app and move on.
