Just flew with Qatar Airways yesterday on PER → DOH → ATH, and since I was checking this subreddit a lot before flying, I thought I’d share a quick report to reassure others.
Flight QR901 (Perth → Doha)
Aircraft: A350-1000
About 80% full
On time, very smooth
Crew were efficient and attentive
Both meals were solid for economy
Doha Airport
Busy but manageable
Several facilities currently closed (Orchard area, gym, pool, golf simulator in airport hotel)
Positive surprise: ~$20 USD food vouchers given at multiple outlets, which effectively covered meals
Flight QR201 (Doha → Athens)
Aircraft: A350-900
Unexpected upgrade to business class
Noticed seat change on boarding pass before departure
Reissued a new boarding pass at the desk
Old-style business cabin, but service and food were excellent
Wine list was a highlight
Honestly didn’t want the flight to end
Overall
Both flights departed and arrived early. Very smooth experience overall, and the upgrade made it especially memorable.
