Passenger wanted Premier League scores mid flight, so the crew used ACARS to get the updates

Came across an interesting story where a passenger on an easyJet flight wanted to know the latest Premier League results while in the air. Instead of waiting until landing, the Operations Centre and flight crew reportedly used ACARS messaging to send the score updates to the aircraft.

I always associated ACARS with operational communication and flight information, so it is pretty entertaining to see it being used for football updates. Apparently this kind of thing is more common than many people realize, especially during major sporting events.
