Passenger describes 67-hour disrupted journey from CCJ to London after emergency landing and delays

A traveler shared a highly disrupted experience on an Air India long-haul journey that ultimately took around 67 hours from departure to arrival. The flight initially faced a technical issue mid-route, requiring an emergency landing in Jeddah.

Following the diversion, passengers experienced extended waiting times with limited communication. Although visa-on-arrival arrangements and hotel accommodations were eventually provided, the overall process was described as poorly coordinated, with long queues, unclear instructions, and difficulty securing rooms. No dinner was provided during the hotel stay.

Subsequent attempts to resume the journey were also delayed. Passengers were transported early to the airport only to face further waiting, with multiple schedule changes before the flight finally departed several hours later than planned.

Onboard issues, including non-functioning entertainment systems, added to the overall inconvenience. The passenger noted that while technical faults can occur, the lack of communication, organization, and passenger support significantly worsened the experience, especially during an already stressful disruption.
