I just got off a short Delta flight from Spokane to Seattle (DL3754), sitting in seat 7A next to another passenger in 7B. We didn’t interact during the flight, but while deboarding I noticed him possibly removing chewed gum from his mouth and placing it into the seat pocket.
I wasn’t completely sure at first, but after he left I checked the pocket and found what looked like chewed gum along with some other trash he had left behind, despite having easily accessible options to dispose of it during the flight. What made it more confusing is that he had even wiped down his armrest with a disinfectant wipe earlier.
I ended up confronting him about it while walking through the jet bridge and told him I found his behavior extremely rude. He seemed surprised and didn’t respond much. We later ended up in the same train section afterward, and he avoided eye contact.
I’m wondering whether this was intentional disrespect or just careless behavior without thinking.
