I am currently at LAX waiting for a flight to Newark on United Airlines.
Boarding for Groups 1 and 2 was lined up properly before the announcement. I am in Group 1, and I was standing near an elderly couple in Group 2.
When Group 1 boarding began, the woman suddenly moved into the Group 1 line and tried to board early. Her partner tried to stop her, pointing out that she was in Group 2, but she ignored him and pushed ahead anyway.
I did not say anything and continued waiting. At the gate, the agent scanned her boarding pass, informed her that it was not her turn, and asked her to step aside. She appeared confused about the situation.
I then boarded normally and left the situation behind. I am now wondering whether I should have said something when she initially tried to cut the line, or if it was better handled by letting the gate agent deal with it.
