Park Hyatt Niseko lived up to the hype for us

Wrapped up a 4 night stay at Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono in January and honestly loved it. First Park Hyatt for both of us and even though people say this one ranks lower than the big name PHs, it exceeded expectations.

Booked the base king on points at 45k per night with Guest of Honor. No upgrade, which was expected during peak ski season, but the base room was plenty big and very comfortable. Two bathrooms, great shower pressure, Le Labo amenities, and little touches like fresh Hokkaido milk in the minibar.

Biggest win here is convenience. Ski valet and lockers were amazing. Walk out, ski straight onto the Hana 1 lift, ski back in, drop gear, straight to the onsen. Doing that after a powder day felt unreal.

Food was very good but pricey for Japan. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the build your own seafood bowl. Dinner options were solid but not mind blowing. Service overall was friendly and polished, though a bit less personal than classic Japanese luxury hotels, likely due to seasonal staff.

Onsen was smaller but clean and relaxing, reservation system worked fine, never felt crowded. Gym was modern and perfectly adequate.

Getting into Hirafu or Kutchan for dinner takes planning since hotel shuttles aren’t super frequent, so definitely make reservations in advance.

Not cheap, very much a ski resort bubble, and not super culturally immersive, but for a luxury ski trip with zero friction, it nailed it. Would absolutely go back.
