Globalist with Hyatt, booked a standard suite at Park Hyatt London for a relaxing stay with my wife. We arrived during the standard check-in time, but the hotel did not have a suite ready until around 7pm.
We asked if there were any alternative suites available in the meantime, and were told we could upgrade to a premium suite for an additional $400. We declined and preferred to wait for our original booking, but eventually were given a standard king room instead of the suite we had reserved.
This experience left me questioning the value of loyalty status when it feels like upgrades and reservations are not being honored as expected, especially at a top-tier property.
