Paris was nothing like the stereotypes… I loved it

I went in a little nervous because of all the usual talk about rude locals, pickpockets everywhere, crazy expensive food. Honestly, my experience was the complete opposite.

Everyone I interacted with was polite and helpful. One woman even offered to take my photo when I was alone in a museum. Small thing, but it meant a lot.

Food wasn’t nearly as overpriced as I expected either. If you plan a bit and avoid the obvious tourist traps, it’s manageable. I skipped the super famous macaron and hot chocolate spots and still ate really well.

I spent four days mostly wandering museums and cathedrals, which I absolutely loved. I already miss it and can’t wait to go back.
