Paid for seats together and JetBlue split us up, now what?

Looking for some advice because this is stressing me out. We’re flying at the end of February with our 3 year old. I paid extra to sit near the front in row 4 specifically so the three of us could sit together. I have the receipt showing the exact seats I bought.

Yesterday I got an email saying my seat was changed. They moved me from the aisle next to my family to a middle seat in the row in front of them. So now a stranger is sitting with my husband and toddler.

I called and used chat and all they could tell me was to talk to the gate agent. That’s exactly what I was trying to avoid. I did everything “right” and paid to select seats together, and now either I’m separated from my toddler or some random passenger gets inconvenienced and resentful.

Has anyone had this happen and actually gotten their original seats back before the flight? Is there anything else I can do besides waiting until the gate? This is supposed to be a relaxing trip and I’m already anxious about it.
