Had a frustrating situation this morning at LAS with JetBlue and wondering what my options are.
My 7am flight pushed back and started taxiing, then the pilot announced they needed to reset a flight computer and we returned to the gate. About 15 minutes later they deplaned everyone, which felt like a bad sign.
I tried the JetBlue chat while still on the plane and it showed a 2 hour wait. When we got back into the terminal, the gate agent told the crowd (around 30 people) that there was basically nothing she could do, all flights were full, and we should cancel, go home, or book another airline.
Phone support was no help either. I got disconnected three times.
So I opened the JetBlue app and booked the next one way flight home leaving about 2 hours later. There were still about 8 seats open, so I grabbed one. It cost $300.
Meanwhile my original flight is now 3 hours delayed and they keep pushing the departure back.
When chat finally connected, they said the best they could do was refund the original $200 ticket, but that still leaves me $100 out of pocket for the replacement flight I had to book myself because of the mechanical issue.
Has anyone dealt with something like this with JetBlue? Is there a way to get the difference refunded?
