Stayed at InterContinental Le Grand Paris in a suite that was about $1,200 a night. The building is beautiful and the history is cool, but once you get past that, the experience really didn’t match the price.
Room wasn’t ready until almost two hours after check in. Shower had visible mold and mildew. Lots of wear and tear in the room. No soap or bathrobes unless you asked. Turndown was either skipped or very minimal when it happened.
Service felt impersonal overall, like a big convention hotel or cruise ship. No pre arrival email, no welcome note, no clear elite recognition, and basic things just felt hit or miss.
Club lounge looked nice but food was repetitive and often picked over early in the evening. Staff seemed stretched thin everywhere.
If this were priced like a solid 4 star, fine. But at Paris luxury prices, there are way better options. You’re mostly paying for the location and the building, not the level of service.
