Had bike reservations and everything, but the Surfliner showed up without the bike car. They wouldn’t let us board at all and told us to wait for the next train an hour later… even though we were literally going one stop. Totally killed our plans.
Train was almost empty too, and they still wouldn’t let the bikes on a regular car. Same thing happened to a friend recently and he ended up stuck in some random city at night.
Really don’t get why they’re this strict, especially when it’s their mistake. At the very least they should refund the trip or let bikes onboard when the train is basically empty.
