Overthinking my millionth mile flight… help

End of next week I’ll be sitting at 999,684 paid butt in seat miles, so my next flight will officially put me over a million.

For whatever reason, airports still calm me down. Walking into EWR still feels like possibility. Another trip, another story.

I’ve been flying for about 10 years now. A lot of incredible memories, but also a lot of time away from home and family. Hitting a million miles feels like both things at once. Something to be proud of, and a reminder of the tradeoffs.

Because of timing, I need to get to Indiana on that trip. And I really don’t want my millionth mile to be a random UA Express hop if I can help it.

So now I’m debating:

EWR → ??? → IND

Part of me says don’t overthink it, it’s just another flight. Part of me feels like a million miles deserves something, even if it’s small.

I could reroute through DEN and make it happen on a mainline flight to somewhere like COS. Or I could just let it happen on an Express flight and move on.

Am I being ridiculous, or would you try to make it a little special? Any fun routing ideas?
