Had a frustrating situation at DEN today. A flight earlier in the day got cancelled, and United ended up moving those passengers onto our flight, which apparently made it oversold.
Instead of boarding the passengers who were originally booked on the flight, they stopped boarding completely. We were left standing at the gate while they repeatedly announced that no one would board until three people volunteered to give up their seats.
This went on for about an hour while everyone just waited. It’s pretty frustrating when you’re on the flight you actually booked but can’t board because of an oversell situation caused by another cancellation.
