My inbound flight arrived ahead of schedule, but my outbound flight back to LGA was suddenly delayed by about 40 minutes even though there did not appear to be any weather issues.
After boarding, we taxied out and were next in line for departure when a ground stop was issued at LaGuardia. We ended up waiting on the taxiway for about an hour before returning to the gate and deplaning. The airline initially said the flight would still operate later that night, but could not give a clear departure time.
Because of the uncertainty, I chose to rebook for the next morning. The delays continued to worsen, with the departure time repeatedly pushed back until the flight was eventually canceled later in the evening.
There was also frustration with communication at the gate, as passengers were repeatedly told the flight would likely still depart the same day, which led some people to stay at the airport longer than necessary.
