The Streisand effect is indeed in full force on this one. OneMile blogger posted that he thought the Cairo airport was the worst in the world. They responded by posting videos and a story about his time at the airport including all the video of him. This certainly does make anyone in media want to go to Egypt despite the rich history and delicious food in Egypt. Ignoring the blog would’ve been a much better response. The ultimate response would be to reach out to him and invite him back. Everyone has a bad day—even airports.
Now I suppose the next plan for Egypt is to invite other travel reporters to showcase improvements.
For many; Egypt remains a dream destination and only recently everyone is adding a Nile cruise to their bucket list. I will be curious if this story dies here.
