If you’ve ever been stuck circling at O’Hare waiting for a gate (yep, been there), you’ll be glad to hear Concourse D is officially underway. This $1.3 billion project adds 19 gates just south of Terminal 1 and is expected to ease congestion once it opens in late 2028. I’m excited about the eco-friendly design cutting HVAC costs in half and featuring green spaces and a sleek oculus skylight.
It’s wild to think how big this will be for Chicago travel. I’m curious if locals or frequent O’Hare fliers think this will really solve the gate delay issue? Or is it just a shiny fix for a much bigger problem? Either way, it’s nice to see some long-term vision at play.
