I just saw that North Carolina landed in WalletHub’s top 10 for summer road trips this year, coming in at 9. Not too shabby, though I remember when it used to rank even higher. Still, with the Blue Ridge Parkway, Outer Banks, and all those charming small towns, it’s hard to beat for variety.
I was surprised to see NC among the top five for highest gas prices, though. That might make me think twice about a long haul through the state. But then again, the abundance of scenic byways and roadside attractions might make up for it.
