I’ve done enough long-haul drives to know one thing: nothing gets your heart racing quite like a fully loaded semi flying past you at 85 mph downhill. The fact that the DOT scrapped the proposal for mandatory speed governors on heavy trucks feels like a rollback from a safety standpoint. I get the "less regulation" argument, but when you’re boxed in on I-70 between two racing rigs, it’s not exactly comforting. Faster trucks might mean fewer slow-lane jams, sure, but the margin for error just shrunk a lot.
Would love to hear from any actual truckers on this- is this a good move or a political stunt?
