Just got back from Sandos Playacar (Jan 12 to 19, 2026) and I honestly feel like I need to warn people.
We booked a Jacuzzi Suite. On Jan 16, the jacuzzi started draining itself into the room. The on button got stuck, jets wouldn’t stop, and water was flooding everywhere. We tried calling reception for over five minutes. No answer. My sister ran to the lobby. They said help was coming. No one showed up for almost 50 minutes while the room kept flooding.
When maintenance finally arrived, they cut the power and confirmed it was a safety hazard. We didn’t get a new room until about 1.5 hours later.
What shocked me most was being told afterward that nobody answers the phone at night. That alone is terrifying. I also personally saw two women trapped on a balcony for over an hour screaming for help while security did nothing. We ended up helping them ourselves.
Trying to speak to a manager was impossible. Over three days we were given fake appointments, told the manager was unavailable, and straight up lied to. At one point staff claimed calling the manager was a prank.
Between broken toilets, non working lights, and staff avoiding responsibility, this place felt unsafe and poorly run. We’re filing a chargeback.
