I just arrived in Bangkok for my first trip to Thailand and the weather was a lot more intense than I expected. By the time I reached my hotel after the flight, I was quite exhausted from the heat and travel.
During check-in, the hotel offered a welcome drink that really stood out to me. It was served with a lot of attention to detail and presentation, including decorative elements on the tray. The drink itself was very refreshing (I believe it was passion fruit based) and came with a bit of lime on the side to mix in.
In other countries I’ve visited, hotel welcome drinks are usually very simple or sometimes not offered at all, so this felt noticeably more thoughtful and well-presented.
Is this level of welcome hospitality common in Thailand hotels, especially in Bangkok, or was this more of a hotel-specific experience?
