Singapore Airlines has announced updated guidelines for carrying power banks on flights, effective from 15 April 2026, in line with ICAO and CAAS regulations.
Under the new rules, passengers are allowed to bring a maximum of two power banks onboard. Any additional units must be discarded before boarding. Power banks with a capacity of up to 100Wh are permitted without approval, while those between 100Wh and 160Wh require prior authorization. Devices exceeding 160Wh are not allowed.
All power banks must be kept in cabin baggage and are strictly prohibited in checked luggage. They should remain easily accessible, such as in a seat pocket or under the seat, and should not be placed in overhead compartments.
Additionally, passengers are not allowed to charge power banks or use them to charge other devices during the flight using onboard power sources.
These measures are part of updated safety protocols aimed at reducing in-flight risks.
