Never booking through Trivago Deals again

Stayed at a Hampton Inn in NYC from Dec 10–12 and booked through Trivago Deals, paying in full upfront. The next morning I saw another charge from the hotel for almost the same amount.


Front desk said Trivago’s payment attempts kept getting declined, so since my card was on file for the deposit, they charged me directly. I called Trivago and sent proof of everything, but five days later they closed my claim saying I didn’t respond.


Now I’m out $1.3k and still no refund. Total scam and it completely ruined my Christmas.
