What’s the deal with Nature Scientific Reports? Practically every time I see an article shared from that journal (on Reddit or elsewhere), there’s almost guaranteed to be an army of commenters pointing out that it’s “not really Nature” and that it’s practically a disreputable rag.
Springer Nature has a huge portfolio of journals, so I’m not going to dispute that the name can be misleading to a lay audience, but beyond that, is the content really that bad? I’ve read and used plenty of useful stuff that was published in SR, and it doesn’t seem to deserve all the hate it gets (based on my experience anyway)
