I’m a fairly experienced traveler, but I ran into an issue while booking a flight on the Ryanair app.
During the booking process, the app required me to enter a first name, first surname, and second surname. I thought this was unusual, but I assumed it was just how Ryanair’s system works. The app also auto-filled my details from my profile, so I didn’t manually re-enter everything.
After completing the booking, I realized my middle name had been incorrectly saved as my surname, and my actual surname is missing from the ticket.
I contacted customer support, but they told me it was my fault and quoted a £115 fee to correct the name, which is more than double the price of the ticket. At this point, I was considering just buying a new flight instead.
I’ve since seen similar cases where others had the same issue and managed to get it corrected without paying, so I contacted support again. Fortunately, I eventually reached a more helpful agent who fixed it for me at no extra cost.
