Name mismatch due to character limit – will it cause issues at check-in?

I’ve cruised with Carnival Cruise Line multiple times without issues, but this is my friend’s first cruise and I want to make sure everything goes smoothly.

While booking, I ran into a character limit for the first name field. My friend’s full first name is something like “John Joseph Smith,” but I could only enter “John” due to the restriction. However, their passport shows the full first name.

Will this difference between the booking name and passport cause any issues during check-in at the port?

Just want to avoid any complications, especially since it’s their first cruise.
