As a visitor, I loved Nagasaki’s old trams. Crowded, sure, but I found them delightful. Some drivers even said thank you to each passenger getting off, which was a nice touch.
But I can’t imagine being a daily commuter on them. Rush hour looked miserable, and those skybridges with endless stairs nearly killed me after a long day walking.
Still, I liked the little details, like buses showing temple names as destinations. Made getting around feel special.
