Looking for any advice because this situation is getting ridiculous.
I was on a JAL flight (booked through AA) and my phone slipped inside the lie-flat seat during the flight. When we landed, I tried to retrieve it but couldn’t reach it. A flight attendant noticed and called over other crew and even a mechanic to check inside the seat, but they still couldn’t find it.
They asked me to wait in the terminal while they kept looking.
While waiting, I tracked my phone using my laptop and could clearly see it was still on the plane. I told airport staff so they could alert the crew, but no one ever came back with an update.
Now the crazy part: the phone has since traveled from Saigon to Narita and now shows up in Hong Kong, meaning it’s still somewhere on the aircraft.
I’ve tried contacting JAL by email, phone, chat, Twitter, Instagram, etc. with no response. American Airlines replied quickly but said they can’t help because it’s a JAL-operated flight.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Any idea how to actually get an airline to retrieve something stuck inside a seat?
