I’ve been a fiercely loyal Southwest customer for over 20 years. I fly at least twice a month domestically and have pretty much always chosen Southwest without thinking twice.
Unfortunately, the new boarding policy was the final straw for me.
I don’t mind boarding later in general, but I do mind being forced to put my carry-on way back over row 19. That’s just not acceptable to me, especially as a frequent flyer who plans around efficiency and consistency.
United has offered to match my status, so as much as I hate to say it, I’m done. Saying goodbye to the gold, red, and blue heart after two decades really sucks. I know all good things eventually end, but this one hurts more than I expected.
