My Go-To Game Plan for the Minnesota State Fair

Every August, I look forward to the Minnesota State Fair, it’s one of my favorite traditions. I always buy my $17 advance ticket and snag the $5 Blue Ribbon Bargain Book for food and attraction deals. With my refillable water bottle, comfy shoes, and a fully charged phone, I’m ready to explore the fairgrounds from sunrise to sunset. I skip the headache of parking by taking the $5 express bus from the Twin Cities it’s convenient and drops me off right near the gate.

Once inside, I go straight for the food: Pronto Pups, deep-fried candy bars, and whatever bizarre new treat is trending that year. I love catching free live shows and wandering through the crop art exhibits. This year, I’m planning to try The Thunderbird the fair’s tallest portable swing ride at 180 feet. The State Fair has something for everyone, and I make the most of every minute I’m there.
