My $120 Amtrak Acela Business Class Ride Was Totally Worth It

I recently took the Acela from Baltimore to NYC in business class for $120 and honestly, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. It shaved about 30 minutes off my trip compared to regular Amtrak, and the roomy seats, footrest, tray table, and access to the café car made the journey feel smooth and relaxed. I even managed to get a little work done while snacking on cheese and crackers from the café.

With the new fleet of faster, modern Acela trains launching this week, I’m seriously excited to ride again soon. Anyone else tried Acela business class or looking forward to the new trains? Is first class worth the splurge, or does business do the job for you?

I saved about 30 minutes by taking the Acela, an Amtrak express train on the East Coast with only business and first-class seating.
