I just checked out after a 5-night stay at Moxy Istanbul Taksim, and it ended up being the best Moxy experience I have had so far.
The property design is genuinely impressive. The hotel is built around a converted loft-style area, and the lobby feels like an open-air street that has been integrated into the building. It has a very distinctive atmosphere compared to typical Moxy properties and feels more architectural and character-driven.
The standard Moxy concept is present, including the playful branding and minimalist rooms, but the execution felt more refined here. There is even a house cocktail that incorporates Turkish tea, which was a nice local touch. The room itself was clean and well maintained throughout the stay, and housekeeping was consistent with restocking amenities. For a city hotel, the space was also more comfortable than expected for a longer stay.
Location is another strong point. Being close to Taksim Square makes it very convenient for exploring the European side of Istanbul. Walking access to areas like Galata and Karaköy makes it easy to get around, and the surrounding neighborhood is full of cafés, restaurants, and shops.
The service was what really stood out. The hotel offers 24/7 concierge support via WhatsApp, which felt more aligned with higher-tier brands than what you would typically expect from Moxy. They were able to secure last-minute restaurant reservations consistently, including more in-demand dining spots, and responses were always quick and helpful.
As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, I was upgraded from an interior room to a city view room and also received a 2pm late checkout without any issues.
Overall, this property delivered far more than I expected from a Moxy and felt like a strong example of how the brand can work in a major city when executed well.
