I’m relocating back to the East Coast soon and trying to figure out if it’s realistic to stick with Alaska status or if I should just switch to AA.
In theory I could fly AA and credit to Alaska, but earning is weaker, especially in economy at 50 percent. That’s going to hurt for requalifying.
Also a lot of AA flights still don’t show up on Alaska’s site, so booking through AS directly isn’t always smooth.
That said, I still really like Alaska’s award program and partners like Starlux and Condor. Hard to walk away from that.
For those who moved east, did you manage to maintain Alaska elite? Or did you eventually switch your primary loyalty to AA?
