This summer, my mountain bike became my unexpected MVP for hiking. I live near the North Cascades, and road washouts have made some trailheads car-inaccessible. Instead of scrapping plans, I’ve been pedaling to those spots and wow, it’s opened up a whole new world. Biking 6+ miles to trailheads like Canyon Lake and Three Fingers Lookout turned what would've been grueling hikes into fun multisport adventures. And yeah, the post-hike downhill ride? So much better than a limp back to the car.
It’s not about replacing hiking it's about expanding access to trails that are otherwise under the radar. Anyone else try bike-to-hike adventures? Got gear tips or favorite routes for combining the two?
